My 8 month old baby has low iron, what can I do to increase his iron?

Certain foods can decrease iron absorption. To ensure that your baby absorbs the iron in your breast milk, space solids and nursing at least 20 minutes apart. Keep track of your baby's iron levels and if his low iron persists consult with your pediatrician about giving him an iron supplement.
